A Whole Lotta Random

It's been awhile since I have actually posted anything about my sweet Little Laughlins...so here goes a bunch of randomness.

Here are my sweetpeas showing off their name tags on their backs. You know what that means, don't you? Mommy and Daddy finally got up enough courage to take them to the church nursery. Yes, they are 15 months old...I know, a little ridiculous. But every time I thought about dropping them off at the nursery, I would get a sinking feeling in my stomach and make up an excuse why it wasn't time. But 2 weeks ago, the babies went and did beautifully. No crying when we left them, no crying when we returned. Now if I could just bring myself to take them back.

Jones recently got to attend Gaga's "lunch bunch" group where Connie and her friends get together. London attended last month, so it was Jones' turn this time. He was still a little groggy when Gaga arrived to take him, and I crossed my fingers he would have a fabulous time and be a flirt like he normally is. I got a full report that the ladies couldn't believe how well behaved he was, and how much he smiled. That's my boy!!

Before Connie and Jones left, London literally crawled towards Gaga with outstretched arms and clung on to her for dear life. She was NOT happy about being left home and wanted to go too. If she could have, I think she would have broken out in "All By Myself".

OK, look closely at London's upper arm. See the redness and the white TEETH marks??? I turned my head the other day and all of a sudden heard screams from London. I ran over to her and saw these teeth marks slowly appearing. She was difficult to console and I was shocked that Jones had not only bit her, but done so very hard. I scooped London up and babied her until she settled down. I then sat there staring at her arm until I realized that based upon where the mark was on her arm and the direction of the bite mark, SHE was the one that did it!!! I'm pretty sure she was mistaken and thought she was biting Jones and had a real shock when she felt the pain inflicted by herself!!! Goodness gracious!

And finally, David installed childproof locks on the cabinets below the sink tonight, and Jones quickly made his way to assist his daddy. This is definitely Daddy's Little Helper!

99% Done!

Well the time has come to reveal the kitchen that is 99% complete! It took us exactly 8 weeks to complete. 8 LONG weeks of our wet bar being our make-shift kitchen! It was worth the wait because I am VERY excited about it. Of course there are still some final things that have to be done including the nook light, 2 cabinet doors that are being remade and repainted, and the desk area might be getting a "tweaking" as well. (and of course I have to get the accessories right and anyone that knows me well knows that will take me forever!)

But here are some pictures to give you a good idea of the "look"!!

Let's first refresh our memories of what this glorious kitchen started out as:

GREEN countertops and PINK tiled floor.

AFTER:

I'll have to do another "after" post to show the other areas that aren't quite done yet!

P.S. We have a very "near walker" in this household and I'll have to post video later of this girl working it around the playroom with her lawn mower!!

Countertops

Sorry I did not do a post of just countertop pics...DUH! Since they have been requested...here they are! I am super duper pleased with the way they turned out. My little version of Carrera Marble but way more durable.

You can see the under counter lights have been installed....but no backsplash yet.

Tomorrow is a VERY exciting day. I get my sink back! That's right...David and I have lived the past 6 weeks with no disposal and no kitchen sink. We have to do dishes in the bathroom sink and that is pretty disgusting when you think about it. Absolutely no food can go down the sink so I have to first wipe everything down with paper towels first. Gross!! We have eaten out SO much and I can't wait to make a casserole or some cookies ASAP! I never thought I would say this...but I am even excited to wash dishes tomorrow. :)

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July!

Here are just a few pics from this past weekend at HHR.
We had a great time and the babies loved being pulled around in the wagon in Canton. There are LOTS of interesting people there to watch so they were enthralled!

The boys taking a ride in the Gator.

Rockin on the porch...Jones wasn't too happy at this moment :(

A morning walk with Grampas

AND....Drumroll please......our microwave is in!!!!! Ta Da!
