A SIGH of relief!

I allowed myself to become worried this weekend about one of the babies' well being.  You know when you somehow convince yourself of the worst case scenario even though you have little justification for those feelings??  I started feeling nervous about one of the babies and thinking that I was only feeling movement from one baby.  My movements had changed and instead of feeling movements on the left and right side, I was only feeling movement right under my ribs.
Anyway, I was excited to get my sonogram this morning to make sure they were both OK.  I got a call early this morning saying my sonographer had to cancel due to a family emergency!!  NOOOOO!!!!  I asked the front desk if there was anyone else that might do the sono as I thought maybe I was only feeling movement from one baby.  Sure enough they got me in to a high risk specialist for a sonogram.  It was awesome!  The sonogram was extremely thorough and he confirmed that both babies were head down, and that's why I was only feeling movement near my ribs....4 little feet were up there kicking away!  (that's why all my ribs feel broken) Jones weighed in at 3 lbs. 9 oz. and London weighed in at 3 lbs. 4 oz.  Woo Hoo!  They are growing perfectly and I am so proud of them!  hehe    I saw Dr. C shortly after and she performed the fFN test and I already have received those results as well....negative!  Therefore, I most likely won't be going into labor in the next 2 weeks.  That's good news.

On another note, I finished this painting for the babies' nursery last week.  I wish I could say that I painted it freehand and I was a talented artist...but that would be a lie.  Instead, I found the picture, used an overhead to project it on the canvas, and then painted it!  I am a cheater, but I think it sure came out cute.  :)

Nearly 31 weeks...

Wow, I can't believe I'm nearly 31 weeks!  This is great!  People continue to tell me they can't believe I'm having twins and I am that far along...which I am taking as a great compliment!  :)  I go to the doctor on Monday so I can see how much the twins have grown!  Can't wait...

Nothing much to report here...just a rainy cold day today!  Went back to work after a long Spring Break and I felt pretty out of it!  Glad I am home now so I can curl up and take a little nap before dinner.

Baby Bedding DONE!

So unfortunately I am pathetic and am overly obsessed with decorating. I have absolutely loved working on the twin's nursery, and found someone to sew my crib bedding. I considered sewing it myself for a split second until David convinced me that that was the worst idea ever and I would stress myself out beyond belief! I am SO glad I listened to him and paid someone to do the stressful work!!

I wanted to make sure the bedding colors weren't too feminine or too masculine. So I opted for red, black, white, and turquoise. The cribs are obviously red, the bedding black and white, and the turquoise has yet to be brought in. This is still a work in progress!!

The pictures aren't the greatest quality as the lighting in the room hasn't been totally determined and it is an overcast day today so I couldn't let in any sunshine!

This is Jones' crib that is on the left when you first walk in the room.

Another shot of Jones' crib

Here is London's crib

Another shot of her crib

Will definitely post more pictures when the room is actually done and hopefully I can get my camera to take pictures that show the accurate color of the cribs!

Weekend Showers!

So I haven't posted for awhile, and I have definitely been given a hard time about it...so this post is for Christine!!  haha

This was a fantastic weekend full of both rain showers AND baby showers!!  Yippee!  It was pouring rain all day
Friday.  I headed out to breakfast with David first thing Friday morning and then went straight to my doctor's appointment.  David didn't go to this one as he has been swamped at work, plus there were no fun sonos involved....only the cervix measuring one.  Not nearly as fun!  :)  The great news is that all of my measurements looked awesome!  Dr. C was really positive and said that everything looked great and my "sore to the touch belly" was normal and also not to be worried about being exposed to the Roseola Virus that my nephew had caught.  I'll return in 2 more weeks and we'll get a "baby measurement" sono again and see their progress.  I can definitely tell they are growing though as my stomach continues to get larger and larger!

After my doctor's appointment, I headed over to my team meeting at work.  There are 10 of us in the district that do my job, and we get to meet regularly for meetings.  They had told me they were going to provide lunch at this meeting in celebration of Jones and London!  They each brought something for the lunch and it was all DELICIOUS!!!

They gave me some adorable preemie onesies along with a very generous giftcard!  My team rocks and I am going to miss them so much next year!!!!  (pics coming soon)

The following day, Saturday, was yet another shower thrown by David's Aunt Judy, Kathy O., and David's mom.  They rented a room at the Chocolate Angel and had an absolutely wonderful lunch and dessert provided!  Then I proceeded to open 1 million gifts....most of which were the size of Miami!  David arrived at the end to help with all of the huge boxes which was a great help!!!  Check out our "loot" pictures from this shower!  WOW, we are so blessed!  Here are just a few pictures...

I got 2 of these onesies that say "Former Wombmates"!

These are 2 cute "Aggie" rubber duckies from Sarah...but I thought the picture was funny cause of my perfect placement of how I'm holding them!

The 2 pictures above show "The Loot" from shower #2!!!

I am off of work this week for Spring Break and plan on doing some "catching up" with preparing for the babies...I suppose this is considered nesting???  I promise the next post really will include nursery pictures....a work in progress!!

Baby Rowan Can WALK!

For those of you that know me well, you know how obsessed I am with my little nephew, Rowan.  This is my sister's first (and only) son and he is an absolute doll!  David and I have learned SO much by being around him the past 14 1/2 months.  It has been so fun to see all of his milestones and what a "sponge" he is at this age.  We can teach him something new with just a couple of times of repetition!

His latest venture is WALKING!  He has been a master with his push toys, but just hadn't gotten enough courage to get rid of the push toy and try on his own.  Well he finally decided it was time and it's so cute.  He walks like Frankenstein (I guess to help with balance) and is SO proud of himself when he's walking.  He even walked ALL around Canton last weekend with his daddy.  Granted, Trevor and him were walking slower than anyone in the place, but he was walking!

Rowan came over for a quick visit with Auntie the other day and I got a little footage of him walking.  Check him out...

My First Baby Shower

Well I had my first baby shower this past weekend and it was WONDERFUL!  It was so much fun, and everyone that attended was so generous!  I had such a blast opening up the many presents they brought...including my sister's 11 presents.  Yes, you heard me right!  Jennifer has always been very creative and came up with a rhyming poem "from" my 14 1/2 month old nephew, Rowan.  He told me all the necessities I would need when I became a Mommy.  Each gift was numbered and contained something special for the twins.  Everything was so cute!

Brooke, Breck, and Mrs. Weiner (Brooke's mom) were the hostesses and they did a fantastic job. They had a full lunch catered from Blue Mesa with tons of food to choose from.  For dessert we had petit fours from Steins (my favorite)!

Everything was black, white, red, and turquoise to match the nursery...so fun!

When I got home I became a super nerd and laid everything out that I received.  Stuff was everywhere in the living room, so I had to stack things so not everything is showing.  But I wanted to try and get everything in one shot!  My next post will include the nursery in progress.  London's bedskirt is already done, and my bedding girl called tonight to say Jones' bedskirt was done as well!  Now she just has to do the bumpers and we'll be making big progress!
