Never-Ending Sickness

It seems we just can't get well over at our household. Once tonsillitis disappeared, a stomach bug crept up on Jones and kept him down for a couple days. He enjoyed relaxing in his recliner in between throwing up. :( Notice a gossip magazine and baby are within close proximity for comfort.

Today is the first day he is acting totally normal and now London came down with a fever today. She's been fussier than normal and I can tell she's got something going on in that little body. Poor babies!!

We were able to go outside and enjoy some of this BEAUTIFUL weather this weekend and help Daddy with the raking of the leaves. He had some really good helpers! And yes, London did a hairstyle change mid leave collection. We can officially do pigtails now and it's pretty exciting to this mommy.

Now I'm off to care for sick children!!!

Tumbling & Tonsillitis

I suppose the term "Tumbling" is a bit of a stretch...but the kids did go to The Little Gym on Saturday to do some gymnastics and had a blast. It took them a bit to warm up, but then they started really enjoying themselves.

And we also had our first case of Tonsillitis in the house this past week. Jones got sick and started running a fever. He was super sluggish and I could tell something wasn't right. He had no congestion or coughing so I was stumped. We took him in to the doctor and he said it was tonsillitis and the reason he wasn't eating the past couple days is because his throat was killing him. Poor baby! He is totally recovered now though and is doing GREAT! In fact, I haven't seen him in this good of a mood in awhile.

A Confession

I'll admit it...I didn't take my kids out in the snow. I know, I know. I am kind of a horrible mother, but I just didn't really think we had the appropriate clothes to go outside and stay warm. And did I mention how long it takes to get 2 toddlers completely dressed with multiple layers??

A LONG time.

So, we stayed indoors and watched the snow fall from the front and back windows. A couple days went by and Nana called to see how the kids enjoyed the snow. Busted!! I explained I hadn't taken them out due to lack of appropriate clothing...and before I could blink my eyes, Nana was at my door with brand new ADORABLE boots for the kids to wear outdoors in inclement weather!! The next morning almost all of the snow was gone, but we still had a tiny bit on the front lawn. So we got dressed and put on our brand new kicks and headed outdoors. Jones was immediately interested and not scared a bit....but you know London! She wasn't interested and VERY tentative about even stepping on the 3 granules of snow. Thank you, Nana, for the adorable boots. We will definitely be ready for the next snowfall...or rainy day.

After heading inside after approximately 3 minutes of being outdoors, the kids headed in to get in their tent and crawl through their tunnel. They insisted on keeping their coats and boots on.

On a completely different note, I thought I'd post a few pictures of current projects we're doing at the house right now. David has been working on our bar for awhile now. We decided to do the whole thing ourselves. And when I say "we", I mean David. He's done a lot in there, but this picture just shows the countertops he did, the marble backsplash, and the faucet he is currently putting in. Will post more pictures as that space continues to change.

And finally my dreaded office. I love having an office, but I have yet to make it "cute". It has stumped me so much. I am tired of having the random yellow paint swatches on the wall, the multitude of boxes and junk on the floor, etc. It's just so plain, and plain is just not acceptable! Therefore, this is my current DIY project so we'll see what I can come up with. The fabric below is hopefully going to make my office turn into beautiful??? We shall see!

PJ Day

Just a few random pics taken before Christmas when we had a "PJ Day". You know....where you keep your PJs on all day and just run around the house and play hours on end!? OK, so maybe we do PJ Days A LOT...and that includes Mommy too.

Pictures of Holland

Wanted to share some photos of yesterday at the hospital and some close-ups I took of Holland today at the hospital. She is such a sweet girl! I got to hold her today and I was able to make her stop crying both times...pretty proud of myself! hehe

So this was yesterday in the waiting room while Holland was being delivered.

We attempted to do a photo shoot of the twins holding their signs for Holland. Little did I know that a one year old can't really hold up a sign right at the camera and pose with it! duh!

Then Trevor arrives with some digital pictures of her right after delivery. Everyone was so excited to see the pics...especially Rowan!
After Rowan saw his little sister, I looked up and realized Jones was gone. My heart started RACING and we started running around looking for him. Fortunately, he had only made it down the hall a bit and was standing outside of the ladies restroom saying "GAGA?" He had followed Connie to the restroom and she didn't know it. So sweet!!
We finally got to go to Jenn's room and the twins were in shock of the tiny baby!

This is me today holding Holland and loving every second of it!!!

Welcome, Sweet Girl

I am so over the moon excited about the birth of my niece. She arrived today a little after noon and she is just perfect! I don't have close up pictures of her yet as I didn't want to overwhelm her with my camera flash in her face. I am headed back up to the hospital tomorrow so I am sure to get some shots of her then.

I get so excited (and a bit emotional) thinking of the relationship London and Holland will hopefully have. I cherish the relationship I have with my sister, and since both these girls probably won't be having sisters of their own, will have a sister in each other.

Welcome, Sweet Holland!

Did Christmas Already Happen??

It might sound silly, but I kind of feel like Christmas hasn't occurred yet and will soon?! I think the reason I feel this way is that I kind of missed out on our Christmas celebration this year. I started feeling ill Christmas Eve. I kept telling David all day that I felt like I was in slow motion and couldn't get myself feeling normal. That evening, after church, everyone came back to our house, but I ended up sitting in a chair most of the evening and eating 3 bites of food. Christmas morning was the worst and after the kids got their Santa gifts, David took off with the twins to head over to my sister's. The plan was to meet at her house for breakfast and family gift time...but I stayed home in bed alone. It was a bit depressing, but it was definitely best. I took it easy the rest of the day and started feeling better the following day. After another full day of sitting on the couch and not doing much, I finally felt 100% normal. All that to say that this holiday season just felt a little different and I can't believe we are now in 2011! Wow, how crazy that my sweet babies will turn 2 this year?! The picture taking was very limited, but here are a few.

Tearing into some gifts at Nana's on Christmas Eve.

Londy taking a picture with her new "camera".
She holds it up to her face backwards & says "cheese"...too stinkin cute!!

Sprinkling Reindeer food on the lawn Christmas Eve night.
Gaga didn't want Londy's feet to get wet!

The last time Morgan was over for a playdate, she said they were getting Jillian a climber for Christmas. Since this is definitely the age where they want to climb on everything, David and I thought it was a brilliant idea and got a little climber for J&L. They LOVE it! Thanks for letting us steal that idea, M.

I hope you all enjoyed this holiday season with your loved ones. We certainly did!
